DinoLand U.S.A. Area in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World, presented by McDonald’s. Guests enter what looks like a quirky roadside attraction, featuring the Boneyard playground, a rambling open-air dig site filled with fossils that kids can play on. Dinosaur! (from 1998 to 2000 it was Countdown to Extinction) is an attraction showing guests dinosaurs facing extinction from a giant asteroid that is hurtling toward Earth. On Cretaceous Trail, they can walk through the past, amid a lush variety of cycads, palms, and ferns, and some other surprising survivors of the age of the dinosaurs. There was also the Theater in the Wild, a 1,500-seat amphitheater. In 2001-2002, an additional area, Dino-Rama opened next to Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures gift shop, featuring Primeval Whirl, TriceroTop Spin, and midway games. Theater in the Wild was enclosed to host Finding Nemo—The Musical, opening in 2007.
