Burke, Steve He joined Disney in 1985 as director of new business development, and in December 1987, he was promoted to vice president, The Disney Store, Inc. By 1990, he was executive vice president, specialty retailing, a post which he held until being selected as executive vice president, operations, for Euro Disney in late 1992. He was named president and chief operating officer of Euro Disney in February 1995. He left Paris on March 1, 1996 to become executive vice president of Capital Cities/ABC, Inc. after its merger with The Walt Disney Company, and was promoted to president of broadcasting in April 1997. He left the company in 1998.
