Bruns, George

Bruns, George (1914-1983) Composer-conductor; hired by Disney in 1953 to work on the music for Sleeping Beauty. He wrote “The Ballad of Davy Crockett,” and besides Sleeping Beauty, received Academy Award nominations also for Babes in Toyland and The Sword in the Stone. He also wrote themes for such films as The Love Bug, Zorro, The Absent-Minded Professor, and The Jungle Book. He retired in 1975, and was named a Disney Legend posthumously in 2001.
