Ballad of Hector the Stowaway Dog, The (television) Two-part television show, aired on January 5 and 12, 1964. Directed by Vincent McEveety. The two parts were titled Where the Heck is Hector? and Who the Heck is Hector? A trained Airedale separated from his owner, who is the first mate on a freighter in Portugal. The sailor unwillingly gets mixed up in a jewel robbery, with the jewels sewn into Hector’s collar. The dog manages to elude the thieves and aid the police in their capture, becoming a hero. Stars Guy Stockwell, Craig Hill, Eric Pohlmann. The two parts were edited together to become a foreign feature entitled The Million Dollar Collar.
