Liberty Street In 1956, Walt Disney announced plans for a Liberty Street at Disneyland to be located behind the east side of Main Street. Included would be a Hall of Presidents. But, this was long before Audio-Animatronics figures were invented, so the presidential figures would have been mere mannequins. Other projects occupied Disney’s time, while eventually the Audio-Animatronics process was perfected and deemed ideal for the planned Hall of Presidents. However, Liberty Street was never built at Disneyland; instead it made its debut as Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World in 1971.
