Eisner, Michael D. He has served as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company since September 22, 1984. Additionally, he assumed the presidency on April 4, 1994, for a year and a half, after the death of Frank Wells. He was born on March 7, 1942, in Mount Kisco, New York, and attended the Lawrenceville School and Denison University, where he received a B.A. in English literature and theater. He was a senior vice president at ABC Entertainment and president and chief operating officer of Paramount Pictures Corp. before coming to Disney. He is married to the former Jane Breckenridge, and they have three sons. He stepped down from the chairman post on March 3, 2004, and retired from the company on September 30, 2005.
