Hurter, Albert

Hurter, Albert (1883-1942) Sketch artist; joined Disney in 1931. He was given the freedom to come up with ideas, and he made distinctive contributions to many Disney films from Three Little Pigs to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In 1953, Walt Disney wrote about him, “That impenetrable mind of his was never easily figured out, but he was a most lovable character when you got to know him. His imagination was rare and unique.” A book featuring a selection of his drawings was published in 1948, entitled He Drew as He Pleased.
