Did you ever wonder about life? Then Epcot was the place for you to be on this day in 1989, when the Wonders of Life pavilion opened its doors for the first time. Nestled in Future World, the new pavilion was an interactive playground of new exhibits all focusing on health and fitness. There were also several “wonder”ful attractions including two short films, Goofy About Health and The Making of Me, featuring Martin Short. Cranium Command gave audiences a “head” start in understanding the brain. While sitting in the control room for the brain of a 12-year-old boy, guests were able to see life through his eyes, literally, along with a live-action cast of characters including the left brain, right brain, the stomach, and, yes, even the bladder. Body Wars was an attraction in the style of Star Wars, but rather than speeding through outer space, this journey led guests through the bloodstream of a human body…definitely a full-body experience!
