No one is quicker than…” Those lyrics for the That Darn Cat! theme song were penned by the Disney Legend songwriting team of Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman and no doubt contributed to the film’s great success. And while the song was not nominated for an Academy Award®, it would have fit right in with nominees that year, including “The Ballad of Cat Ballou” and “What’s New, Pussycat?” And what would a great film be without some extraordinary talent? Two of the film’s stars became Disney Legends, though the feline star never received that honor. D.C. (which stands for Darn Cat), was already a film veteran having appeared as Tao in The Incredible Journey before co-starring with humans Dean Jones and teen sensation Hayley Mills… a purr-fect combination!
