Enjoying 2026 so far? As we re-enter a busy season of exciting events—including tours, screenings, and panels with D23—here’s a quick recap of how we celebrated the last holiday season with our amazing D23 Members. You’ll find it was a truly event-ful time at the Official Disney Fan Club!
Starting off strong with our signature Spotlight Series, D23 featured an ocean’s worth of talented producers, designers, and actors to share a bit of bicoastal Disney magic. Our Halloween Boo-Nanza and Spook-tacular Spotlights (in Glendale, CA, and Orlando, FL, respectively) gave fans a peek behind the curtain of Walt Disney Imagineering’s wow-worthy special effects. No, literally—guests were able to see on-set footage from attractions including Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which were displayed among very tall and dark drapes.
We returned to celebrating Disney Parks—specifically Disneyland’s 70th anniversary—by treating guests to a preview of “The Happiest Place on Earth,” the newest exhibition at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, CA. Plus, who better than Disney Legends Don Hahn and Tony Baxter and special guest former Imagineer Tom Morris to serve as guides through archival materials and behind-the-scenes anecdotes. (Talk about being overqualified for the job!) Finally, we had our own odyssey by inviting some cast and crew from Disney+’s Percy Jackson and The Olympians to share an early preview of the show’s second season. Executive producers Craig Silverstein and James Bobin, along with demigods-in-disguise Daniel Diemer (Tyson) and Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse La Rue), shared some tea from the high seas.
Our fans who couldn’t sail to California didn’t miss out either. We later aired that same preview episode during an installment of D23 Gold Theater, which brought a slew of exclusive virtual programming to our Gold Members. For extra holiday fun, we also took audiences on a “boo”-hind the scenes tour of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion preparing for its iconic Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas-themed holiday makeover. To end the year, we dove into other holiday traditions at Disney Parks around the world—no travel required!
We also caught wind of the fun to be had in the Windy City! D23 bundled up for a week of events in Chicago, starting with tours of the Walt Disney Birthplace. Yes, the house that started it all, where the entertainment legend was born almost 125 years ago. For more contemporary fare, we hosted a tentpole celebration for Home Alone as a part of our D23: On the Road screenings. It was an amazing conclusion to our holiday series, which saw a stocking’s worth of shows in nearly 20 cities across the country. We truly channeled our inner Catherine O’Hara going from city to city, trying to return to Chicago (we beat her numbers-wise, though!) In this special holiday homecoming at the Music Box Theatre, we showed the film with festive flair, including live polka performances from the Kenosha Kickers (including an original Kicker from the film, accordion player Eddie Korosa, Jr.!)—accompanied by many eager amateur kazoo-ists in the audience.
Finally, for some old-fashioned film-studio fun, we hosted fan-favorite celebration, A Jolly Holiday with D23, on the famed Walt Disney Studios Lot in Burbank, CA. D23 Members enjoyed a festive takeover, including character meet-and-greets; treats and eats; exclusive shopping; and activities for the whole family. Additionally, throughout the season, we hosted early preview screenings of latest Disney hits, such TRON: Ares, Zootopia 2, and Avatar: Fire & Ash. It was a hot streak fur real, and we’re so excited to have seen our fans show up for fun on the big screen!
