D23 Fanniversary continues the celebration with complimentary screenings of Beauty and the Beast in Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Miami this Saturday, September 17. Find out how to join the fun here!
Saturday, September 9, was an exciting day for D23 Members in both Dallas and Seattle who saw Beauty and the Beast return to the big screen as part of our Fanniversary!
In Dallas, friends and families arrived in their favorite Beauty and the Beast attire and comfortably took their seats for the film. Before the movie began, the audience was surprised by a special visit from Jesse Corti—the voice of LaFou! Jesse told stories about how the movie still touches his life every day, even after 25 years. He also shared that the character to whom he relates most is Belle, because of her fearlessness and her great sense of adventure.
A few hours later, the magic continued in Seattle! As in Dallas, many D23 Members arrived dressed like their favorite characters from the film. Then, the lights dimmed as Disney Legend Paige O’Hara, the voice of Belle, delighted the audience with a special Q&A about the enduring legacy of the animated classic!
Paige confessed that her favorite character in the film is Beast and that her husband (also in the audience) actually played him in the Broadway production! She also spoke to the audience about her love for painting and how she came to be a Disney Fine Art artist.
As a thank you for taking part in the Fanniversary fun, all attendees received an exclusive set of three postcards of sketches drawn by original Beauty and the Beast animators Glen Keane, Andreas Deja, and Mark Henn!
