D23 Members from around the country came together to sip, stroll, and scream (with delight!) at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. First up? Reserved seating for a taping of ABC’s The Chew—and panelists Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly, and Daphne Oz even paid members a special visit for a photo opp!
Guests, who were each given a gift card to peruse the Festival at their leisure during their free time, later convened at World Showplace where Yuhi Fujinaga, Executive Chef of Disney Springs’ pan-Asian eatery Morimoto Asia, did an engaging cooking demonstration—followed by samples for the entire audience to enjoy (check out the recipe here)! Then Mickey and Minnie Mouse—dressed in their Halloween best—came out and posed for photos with all guests. As members exited, each received a gift bag with The Chew Approved cookbook, signed by all the panelists, as well as a commemorative trivet adorned with the Sip & Scream logo.
After a little “liquid sunshine” (although rain couldn’t dampen our spirits!) members met up for the Eat to the Beat concert at the America Gardens Theatre with Blues Traveler.
From there (thanks to a little additional “liquid sunshine”) our dessert party shifted indoors to the private room inside The Seas with Nemo and Friends where guests enjoyed “Red Velvet Coffin Bars” and “Cheesecake Eyeballs,” among other sweet treats, at our dessert party as they were able to sit and watch hundreds of fish swim by in the giant aquarium.
Finally, we walked over for a private viewing of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. The shimmering nighttime spectacle was the perfect way to end the night. Thanks to everyone who attended and we hope to see you again soon!
