“Who’s a little like water and oil?” Well, according to the theme song, it’s the title characters in Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, an animated series that premiered on the Disney Channel on this day in 2004. The series tells the tales of one silly rabbit and a pampered pooch, who fell from a plane with no parachutes and end up living together in the jungle. Mr. Whiskers is a happy-go-lucky bunny who wants to explore nature, meet other animals, and sing loudly in the jungle. He is voiced by veteran voice actor and director Charlie Adler, who, according to his official bio, can be heard an average of 20 times a day all over the world. He’s been a Smurf, a G.I. Joe, and a Transformer, and provided the voices of Buster Bunny in Steven Spielberg’s Tiny Toon Adventures, Ickis in AAAHH!!! Real Monsters, and Ed and Bev Bighead in Rocko’s Modern Life. Brandy is Brandy Harrington of the Florida Harringtons, a dog who only knows the finest things in the human world. Brandy’s real-life voice is Kaley Cuoco, who played Bridget in the ABC comedy 8 Simple Rules and today appears as Penny in The Big Bang Theory.
