On this day in 2002, guests at Disney California Adventure could spin with ladybugs, fly on a leaf, or ride on a caterpillar in the all new a bug’s land, inspired by the Disney·Pixar hit film a bug’s life. Walking through a giant box of Cowboy Crunchies cereal (from Toy Story 2), park guests can feel like they are shrinking to the size of a bug as they exit the box into a land of popsicle stick benches, firefly lamps, and spraying garden hoses for those hot days, all appearing oversized as they would to a tiny bug. Even the signs on the restrooms indicate they are for male and female bugs and appear to have had some bugs nibble away at them.
