Fifteen years since they first graced our screens, our favorite Sacred Heart Hospital friends are back on Scrubs—premiering Wednesday, February 25, at 8/7c on ABC and streaming on Hulu. This time ‘round, John “J.D.” Dorian (Zach Braff) unexpectedly finds himself once again at Sacred Heart—reuniting him with new and old faces.
Medicine has changed; interns have changed... but at least the bromance between J.D. and Turk (Donald Faison) has stood the test of time! Characters we know and love, along with those just arrived, are set to navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart, and—naturally—some surprises along the way. Sarah Chalke also returns as Elliot Reid, and original cast members Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley will guest star as Carla and Dr. Perry Cox, respectively.
It probably won’t surprise you to learn that Scrubs is not the first foray into the worlds of Disney for many of the show’s stars. Read on for a look at where you can find the medical professionals of Sacred Heart in some fan-fave Disney films, TV series, animated specials... and even live on Broadway!

Zach Braff (J.D.)
Within the worlds of Disney—and outside of Scrubs—Braff is probably best known for voicing Chicken Little in the 2005 animated film of the same name... and he went on to voice the character in several Kingdom Hearts video game iterations. Additionally, you can find Braff in 2002’s A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, and in the dual roles of Frank and Finley in 2013’s Oz the Great and Powerful. More recently, for Disney+, he starred in 2022’s Cheaper by the Dozen and voiced the role of Freck in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Donald Faison (Turk)
Faison famously portrayed Petey Jones in 2000’s Remember the Titans, before making a host of voice appearances around the worlds of Disney—including as Ricky Rotiffle on Kim Possible; as Bartik in the Disney XD show Tron: Uprising; as Dragos the Dancer in the Disney Jr. animated series Vampirina; as Harry the March Hare in the Disney Jr. animated series Alice's Wonderland Bakery; and as Hype Fazon in Star Wars Resistance. Additionally, he played Alex Evans on the ABC series Emergence.

Sarah Chalke (Elliot)
Chalke has been a staple of several holiday seasons for Disney—voicing the role of Magee in Disney’s Prep & Landing, Prep & Landing: Operation: Secret Santa, and Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice. She also played Angie LeClaire in ABC’s Cougar Town; Casey Hedges in Grey's Anatomy; and Melanie Hertzal on Speechless. In addition, she voiced Ms. Murawski on Milo Murphy's Law, The Professor on Hailey's On It!, and Beth Smith on Rick and Morty.

Judy Reyes (Carla)
Besides her turn on Scrubs, Reyes has made appearances on other ABC series, including Castle, Fresh Off the Boat, black-ish, and is currently seen as Lt. Selena Soto on ABC’s High Potential.

John C. McGinley (Dr. Cox)
McGinley portrayed Marine Captain Hendrix in the 1996 Hollywood Pictures film The Rock; Davis “Rig” Lanlow in the 1997 Touchstone Pictures film Nothing to Lose; and the Highway Patrolman in the 2007 Touchstone Pictures film Wild Hogs (alongside Disney Legend Tim Allen). He’s also done voice work for several animated Disney Channel series—appearing as White Stripe on Kim Possible, Dr. Diente on American Dragon: Jake Long, and Dr. Fry on Hamster & Gretel.

Michael James Scott (Nurse Dubois)
Bonus item: You might recognize Scott from his long-running turn as the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway—a role he’s played not only on the NYC stage, but on the West End in London; in the original Australian cast; and on tour across the United States. (He’s also a friend of D23, having [among other things!] performed at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024.) He’ll soon be appearing as Nurse Dubois on this iteration of Scrubs... yet another reason to make sure and tune in!
