Disney twenty-three heads back to two fan-favorite locations for the Winter 2025 issue. In the cover story, revisit the lush landscapes of Pandora, accompanied by Avatar: Fire and Ash stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, and Sigourney Weaver—and others—as they share behind-the-scenes stories about the making of the next exciting epic in the Avatar franchise. The Sully family is in turmoil this time out, Weaver reveals: “What happens in this story is that their world totally changes—and all the kids have to somehow step up.”
Then strap on your armor and sharpen your sword as you navigate into the Sea of Monsters for Season 2 of the Disney+ hit series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, featured on this issue’s back cover. Disney twenty-three talks with stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, and many other cast members as they share their experiences of returning to an embattled Camp Half-Blood and embarking on dangerous new quests. Get the actors’ insights into their characters and hear about on-set antics (including one prank that Simhardi says he captured on a Polaroid!).
Also inside this issue, Disney twenty-three gets personal in exclusive sit-down interviews with Disney Legend Jamie Lee Curtis—talking about both Freakier Friday and the upcoming Ella McCay—as well as the Jonas Brothers, who cap 20 years of Disney projects with A Very Jonas Christmas, their new Disney+ movie.
Then we go backstage at Walt Disney – A Magical Life to learn how Walt Disney Imagineers brought Walt Disney to life with Audio-Animatronics® technology, Walt’s own voice, and a ton of research. Among several holiday-themed stories, we join the cavalcade for A Christmas Fantasy parade at Disneyland Park to learn about that 30-year tradition’s origins and evolution.
For fans of classic Walt Disney Animation Studios features, this issue offers an abundance of content, including more on the 12 principles of animation and many rarely seen artworks from those beloved dog and cat movies Lady and the Tramp, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, and The Aristocats. Finally, we share little-known stories about the making of that most musical Disney Animation classic, Fantasia (1940)—turning 85 this December.
With all that as well as previews of Marvel Television’s Wonder Man and Disney Branded Television’s newest Prep & Landing special—plus regular features Down the Rabbit Hole, Ask the Archives, D Society, and By the Numbers—you’re not going to want to miss this jam-packed issue. The digital edition will be available to Gold Members starting today, November 11, with print issues available at DisneyStore.com on November 18.
