Cast members, crew members, Disney Imagineers, and employees across Disney Experiences around the globe are known for going “above and beyond”—and each year, some of those incredible individuals are recognized with The Walt Disney Legacy Award. Since launching in 2011, the Legacy Award has recognized those who truly embody the spirit of the company’s founder, Walt Disney—someone who dreams big, creates magic, and inspires excellence throughout the company. Recipients of this prestigious award are selected from Disney Experiences teams worldwide, including at theme parks, resorts, cruise ships, and other locations throughout the world.
Last month, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort held their Legacy Award ceremony—honoring outstanding individuals who exemplified the Disney Experiences qualities of Dream, Create, and Inspire over the previous cycle. The evening included dinner, the awards presentation, and a special performance; guests and honorees were especially delighted by a surprise appearance by Disney Legend Lea Salonga, who took to the stage alongside several Legacy Award recipients before singing a few of her signature Disney songs.

Attendees were thrilled by the entire event; said Hong Kong Disneyland cast member and Legacy Award recipient Salina Chui, who often helps little girls transform into princesses, “It just so happened that my older girl is back in Hong Kong for vacation, and I really wanted her to come with me to share the joy of receiving this award... Every performance that night was wonderful, and every dish was exquisite and delicious. Everything was prepared with so much sincerity!”
Performer Raki, who received the Legacy Award in 2023, was particularly excited to share the stage with a longtime inspiration: “I sang with Disney Legend Lea Salonga onstage for the first time tonight for the Legacy Awards! I am still shaking—overwhelmed with gratitude and awe that this moment actually happened. Pinch me; this can’t be true... Lea was the reason I believed singing could be my life.”
