The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s Cast and Crew Promise an “Action-Packed” and “Emotionally Charged” Adventure

By Zach Johnson

The first episode of Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is now streaming exclusively on Disney+. According to the series’ director, Kari Skogland, fans are in for quite a ride. “The tone is going to be fun and lively,” Skogland told us at D23 Expo 2019, adding that the six-part original series will be “action-packed” and “emotionally charged.”

Emily Van Camp, who reprises her role as Sharon Carter from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is excited for fans to watch her character, as well as the titular characters, become more fully realized via Disney+. “Streaming is where everything is headed,” Van camp noted, “and it’s kind of cool to be able to take these characters on a longer journey.”

Sharing her sentiment, Anthony Mackie, who returns as Sam Wilson aka The Falcon, said he is looking forward to showing fans what makes these beloved characters tick. “It’s all about character and exposition,” he said. “In a movie, you don’t have a lot of time to show much about the characters; you have to tell the story. In this, you really get to learn who they are.” To find out what else he had to say—and to hear from stars Sebastian Stan and Wyatt Russell, plus head writer Malcolm Spellman—watch our exclusive video interview.

New episodes of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will debut Fridays, only on Disney+.
