Next, you'll visit the iconic Ink & Paint Department, still active today and carrying on a tradition of craftsmanship that spans generations. Here, you won’t just observe—you’ll participate! Guests will have the opportunity to ink and paint their very own animation cel, guided by experts in the field. This hands-on experience ends with a personalized cel to take home as a cherished keepsake.

In the afternoon, the tour takes a leap into the present at the current Walt Disney Animation Studios. - Due to the extremely limited number of spots available for this event, ticket sales will be administered through a Random Selection Process (RSP). Please click the link below to enter your information and participate in the RSP for ticket sales.
- Entry opens on Tuesday 1/20/26 at 10 a.m. / 1 p.m. PT/ET and closes on Friday 1/23/26 at 2 p.m. / 5 p.m. PT/ET.
- Those selected to purchase tickets for this experience through the RSP process will be notified on Monday, January 26, 2026. Those initially selected will have 72 hours to purchase their tickets, otherwise they forfeit their opportunity to purchase for this experience—and an alternate D23 Gold Member shall be given the opportunity to purchase pursuant to the RSP process.
NOTES
Ticketing Terms and Conditions:
- D23 Gold Members may reserve two (2) tickets—one (1) for themselves and one (1) for a guest—for this event. The Gold Member must be a present participant in the experience.
- The D23 Gold Member and their guest must possess a valid, individual event ticket to be admitted.
- Ticket quantities are extremely limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis to those selected through the RSP process.
- To reserve a ticket, D23 Gold Members must log in using their valid D23 Member account credentials.
- Tickets are non-transferable and must be used by the individual named at the time of purchase.
Age Requirements:
- D23 Gold Members and their guests must be 18 years or older to partake in this experience.
Entry Requirements:
- All D23 Members must present a valid D23 Membership card (physical or digital via the D23 App) along with a valid event ticket at check-in.
- D23 Members and each of their guests over the age of 18 may be required to show a valid government-issued ID matching the name on their ticket.
- Failure to present a valid membership card, a corresponding ticket, and a valid government-issued ID matching the name on their ticket may result in denial of admission without refund or further obligation by D23.
Event Conduct and Restrictions:
- Unauthorized video or audio recording of any kind during the tour is strictly prohibited. Photography may not be permitted during some portions of the tour.
- D23 reserves the right to deny admission or remove any individual who fails to comply with event rules, disrupts the event, or violates the terms and conditions of participation.
- To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, all D23 Members and guests attending this D23 event are expected to adhere to the stated Disney rules (as applicable, and, including without limitation, with respect to Guest Courtesy Policies) found here.
Any ticketed Members or their guests who do not personally attend the event, forfeit their place, as well as all experiences, benefits, and gifts associated with the event. D23 Members must be present or guests will not gain admittance to the event.
All D23 events are subject to change without notice. All ticket sales are final. There are strictly no cancellations or refunds regardless of reason (including, without limitation, due to illness, change in travel plans, etc.) and tickets are not transferable.
