ABOUT DISNEY’S NEW AMSTERDAM THEATRE

Opened in 1903, the New Amsterdam Theatre is the oldest operating theatre on Broadway and an official New York City landmark. In 1913, it famously became home to The Ziegfeld Follies for the next 14 years. In 1993, The Walt Disney Company signed a 99-year lease on the theatre and began a two-year restoration partnership with the City of New York. Since then, it has been the home to Disney on Broadway productions including The Lion King and, currently, Aladdin.
