Starting on this day in 1942, audiences howled at the antics of Pluto in the animated short T-Bone for Two. This time around, our prized pooch lets the desire of a tasty bone get the best of him, and he outwits his bulldog nemesis to steal the treat. Butch, Pluto’s raging rival, appeared in 11 cartoons beginning with Bone Trouble in 1940. As for the title of T-Bone for Two, it’s derived from the popular song “Tea for Two,” penned in 1925 for the musical No, No, Nanette. While this, the 11th Pluto short, was not a stage musical, it was still a fun-filled film for all . . . make no bones about it.
