It was on this day in 1999 that the Hollywood Pictures film The Sixth Sense started making cents for Disney — lots of cents, in fact (for a time it was the company’s highest-grossing live-action film). As a distinguished child psychologist, Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) routinely treats troubled kids, but he’s never had a patient like Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment). The terrified and confused eight year old claims he can see ghosts who talk to him. Dr. Crowe soon begins to grow close to his young patient, but he is completely unprepared for what truly haunts Cole. As the reality of Cole’s incredible sixth sense is revealed, Dr. Crowe and Cole experience intense and mysterious encounters that have unforgettable consequences for each of them.
