Spots of fun occurred on this day in 1991 when Disney Press published their first book, 101 Dalmatians: A Counting Book. In the book, kids learn to count while Pongo and Perdida search for their 99 pups (clearly Three Little Pigs or Seven Dwarfs just would not have had the same impact!). Disney Press is an imprint of The Disney Book Group, part of Disney Publishing Worldwide, which is the world’s largest publisher of children’s books and magazines. Disney Publishing Worldwide publishes more than 400 children’s magazines and 120 million children’s books each year, with books and magazines published in 85 languages in 75 countries, reaching more than 100 million readers each month.
