Part of the Disney Afternoon, the animated TV series Goof Troop premiered on April 20, 1992, on Disney Channel. The Goof, a single-parent family man, struggles to raise his son in suburbia. His son, Max, however, wants to be different from his old man; in other words, cool. The results are misunderstandings and misadventures, further complicated by their next-door neighbor Pete. He’s a snarling used car salesman with a big ego and a temper to match. The series eventually earned its own full-length feature film in 1995, A Goofy Movie, and a sequel to follow it up in 2000, An Extremely Goofy Movie.
