Disney Announces Healthy Food Initiatives for US Theme Parks

Wondering what was cooking at the Disney Parks on this day in 2006? Healthier food options! It was announced that Disney Parks would be changing foods in its U.S. theme parks to reduce calories, fats, and sugar and also to provide healthier alternatives to fried foods and sodas. Plans were also announced to eliminate trans fats by the end of 2007 and by the end of 2008 for licensed products. For some, those frozen bananas or Monte Cristo sandwiches are special treats at the parks, and those foods are still available today, but the changes would give more options to guests who wish to eat healthier. That’s the skinny on This Day in Disney.
