From All of Us to You

ABC Airs the Walt Disney Presents TV Show From All of Us to All of You

On this day in 1958, the Walt Disney Presents television series first aired From All of Us to All of You, predating the tradition of animated Christmas specials. The show was a compilation of both Christmas and other festive animated clips from Disney’s features, along with yuletide cartoon shorts. The episode would pop up in future years, although not annually, with different footage and eventually included clips of the latest animated features. The new animation that was created specifically for the television program included Jiminy Cricket singing “When You Wish Upon a Star,” as well as the show’s title song, accompanied by Mickey Mouse on the piano. The song itself found success initially as a 45rpm record album and later on compilation LPs. As Jiminy Cricket sang in that song, we here at Disney still wish “from all of us to all of you, a very merry Christmas.”
