A shadowed silhouette of a Headless Horseman atop his horse in red and burgundy color palette. The Headless Horseman has his arms spread wide, holding a sword; the horse is on its hind legs, surrounded by gravestones, in a cemetery. On top of the shadowed silhouette, the event name is listed: “D23 Heads Back to the Hollow – Sleepy Hollow, NY.”

With a hip, hip, and a clippity-clop, D23 “heads” back to Sleepy Hollow, New York! Come celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and discover the legend for yourself while honoring 150 years of the town of Sleepy Hollow—the spooky setting of Washington Irving’s original frightening fairy tale!

DETAILS

Our first stop will be at the Tarrytown Music Hall, where D23 Members will have reserved viewing to the marquee presentation of the Sleepy Hollow International Film Festival—The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad: 75th Anniversary Celebration. Join Walt Disney Archives director Becky Cline and guests as they “treat” the audience to a special selection of film shorts and surprises, complete with a behind-the-scenes look at the classic Disney Animation film and so much more!

When the screening concludes, guests will have free time to explore historic Tarrytown, with a special self-guided tour of points of interest. During this time, guests will also make their way to the Old Dutch Church and Cemetery (the very church where Ichabod fancied himself choirmaster, and where Washington Irving got the inspiration for his Legend) for tours and stories of the author and the people who inspired the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. To help you plan your day, guests will register for a specific tour time closer to the event date.

In the evening, D23 Members will be transported back to Kingsland Point Park for an autumn celebration that would make Brom Bones proud—complete with live entertainment, light appetizers, beverages, desserts, and spectral hayrides… all set in the picturesque surroundings of the Hudson Valley.

Guests will receive not only a special credential, but also an event gift: a D23-exclusive, limited-edition The Legend of Sleepy Hollow pin—created just for this special anniversary!
