Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade Debuts at Magic Kingdom
The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade has arrived at Magic Kingdom Park! The parade, which serves as a tribute to New Fantasyland, officially debuted as the park’s new daily afternoon parade on Sunday, March 9, 2014.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to Reopen March 17 at Disneyland Park
Hold on to your hats and glasses! After a 14-month refurbishment, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is reopening March 17 at Disneyland Park. In addition to an upgraded track, restoration of the historic Rainbow Ridge Mining Town, repainting on portions of the mountain and updates to the ride vehicles, the refurbishment also includes some new surprises that Guests should be on the lookout for when they return to the “wildest ride in the wilderness.”

Starbucks opens at Downtown Disney District
The first Starbucks location in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort opened its doors March 10 near the World of Disney store, unveiling innovative features, such as interactive touch screens, a 10-foot video screen and a “living green wall” with more than 1,000 native plants in the shape of a coffee cup. In addition to its unique design, the store will offer some of the rarest Starbucks coffees, available through the Starbucks Reserve coffee line and Clover brewing system. This store is the first of four planned locations across Disney properties in the U.S. to be operated by Starbucks. Starbucks beverages are also available at Market House in Disneyland Park and at Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café in Disney California Adventure.

Disney and SMG Pictures Announce China Co-Development Deal
The Walt Disney Studios and Shanghai Media Group Pictures have announced a multi-year partnership agreement aimed at co-developing Disney-branded movies for U.S.-China co-productions. Under the deal, U.S.-based action, adventure and fantasy writers will team with locally-based Chinese writers and filmmakers to develop stories and scripts that bear all the hallmarks of Disney films and feature authentic Chinese elements fit for local co-production and aimed at the international market.

Studio Teams With The Black List
The Walt Disney Studios announced a collaboration with the Black List to help find undiscovered writers with diverse perspectives for Disney’s Feature Writers Program. Drawn exclusively from writing submissions to the Black List website over the next two months, the Black List will compile a short list of up-and-coming writers with unique and distinctive points of view, and Disney will seek to invite exceptional writers from this list to join their Feature Writers Program.

Disney Interactive Introduces Disney Infinity Phineas & Ferb Toy Box Pack at American International Toy Fair 2014
Last week, the nation’s biggest toy industry event—American International Toy Fair—was hosted in New York and Disney Interactive gave show attendees a sneak peek at the Disney Infinity Phineas and Ferb Toy Box Pack, which will be available for game consoles, PCs and mobile devices in North America beginning on April 1. Featuring the wildly popular Phineas and Agent P characters from Disney Channel’s animated series Phineas and Ferb, the Toy Box Pack will deliver even more hilarity and hijinks to the Disney Infinity Toy Box by giving players the chance to use the characters and crazy gadgets like Phineas’s baseball blaster and Agent P’s flying fedora.
