Super Bowl XLVIII MVP Malcolm Smith “Goes to Disney World”
The victory atmosphere moved south from New Jersey to Walt Disney World Resort Monday where Seattle Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith celebrated his team’s stunning Super Bowl XLVIII championship win as thousands of fans lined Main Street, U.S.A. Just hours after his title win against the Denver Broncos, Smith was riding high atop a convertible smiling and waving to guests at Walt Disney World Resort. Flashing lights, a whirlwind of fluttering confetti, balloons and Mickey Mouse himself accompanied the Super Bowl MVP down the famous street at the Magic Kingdom. It was a remarkable dream come true for Smith, who went from being the last player the Seahawks drafted in 2011 (No. 242 overall) to the hero of the Super Bowl. Singer Natasha Bedingfield Takes Flight With The Pirate Fairy
Disneytoon Studios’ new adventure The Pirate Fairy features Zarina, a smart and ambitious dust-keeper fairy whose wild ideas get her into trouble. And according to filmmakers, a fairy with such an outgoing personality called for a very special musical accompaniment. “We are lucky enough to have award-winning Natasha Bedingfield serve as the inner voice of Zarina through her songs,” says Peggy Holmes, director of The Pirate Fairy. “Zarina is a little offbeat and contemporary and these songs showcase her personality so well. We used one of Natasha’s songs, ‘Weightless,’ as a temp track and fell in love with it—so much so, we decided to use it in the final film. We felt Natasha’s voice so perfectly spoke to Zarina’s character, we asked her to also perform our original song ‘Who I Am,’ which was written for The Pirate Fairy.” Bedingfield was equally thrilled to join the production. “Being part of The Pirate Fairy was fantastic,” Bedingfield says. “I like pirates and I really love fairies, so I could think of nothing better than working on a song for the movie that brings these things together. It really has everything I love in it.” “Who I Am” (written by Adam Watts and Andy Dodd and produced by Watts, Dodd, and Bedingfield) “Weightless” (Less Is More Version; written by Bedingfield, Stephen Kipner, Wayne Wilkins, and Andre Merritt)

Spice Road Table Now Open in Morocco Pavilion at Epcot World Showcase
Spice Road Table is now open in Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort, offering a variety of Moroccan small plates and specialty drinks. Regional flavors from the Mediterranean are highlighted, along with a scenic view of the World Showcase lagoon in front of the Morocco pavilion. Perfect for “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” viewing or relaxing with a selection of Moroccan flavors and cocktails along World Showcase Lagoon, Spice Road Table is a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds, say the restaurant’s designers. There’s an array of small plates: zesty harissa chicken drumettes; a Mediterranean omelet with sausage, potatoes and caramelized onion; mussels with preserved lemons and tomato sauce baked in an earthenware tagine pot; Moroccan merguez sausage with a fresh tomato salad; garlicky jumbo shrimp in a spicy chile pepper sauce. Inspired by the outdoor cafes along the Mediterranean, the whitewashed façade of Spice Road Table is accented in icy shades of blue from the famous “Blue City” of Chefchaouen in Morocco’s Rif Mountains. A collection of shops in the colorful style of a Moroccan “souk,” or marketplace, stretches along the front of the building – a henna tattoo artist will create temporary body art from traditional and modern designs.
