By opening the Winter 2024 issue of Disney twenty-three, D23 Gold Members will earn their passage on another momentous ocean adventure with Moana and Maui, who appear on the cover to introduce D23’s exclusive story on the making of the long-anticipated Moana 2. Hear one-of-a-kind behind-the-scenes stories from Auli’i Cravalho, the voice of Moana, as well as the filmmakers and songwriters of this fan-favorite new story from Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Once they return to dry land, D23 Members will be swept off to the savanna to learn the dramatic origin story of Mufasa: The Lion King. Taking place years before the events of the beloved animated film The Lion King (1994) and the 2019 live-action reimagining, this epic tale of family, friendship, and survival features Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as the voices of Mufasa and his adoptive brother, Taka, during their pivotal coming-of-age, and is directed by Academy Award® winner Barry Jenkins. All three speak to Disney twenty-three, along with Tiffany Boone, the voice of Sarabi.
Back in the realm of cutting-edge animation, Pixar Animation Studios is preparing to introduce its first all-original Disney+-exclusive series Win or Lose come February 2025.
