D23 Members Gather From Coast to Coast for a Five-Event Weekend

We’re strong believers that you can make any day a Disney day no matter where you live.

But last weekend, hundreds of D23 Members got together for five D23 events in four different cities, making for four days of Disney fun that we’ll never forget.

It all began with a D23 Member-exclusive early screening of Cinderella at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, which had hosted The Walt Disney Company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders earlier in the day. It was such a thrill to see a welcome just for D23 Members up on the big stage that had just hours before featured Bob Iger, John Lasseter, and Josh Gad!

After the screening, D23 Gold Members were invited to a special dessert reception, and they arrived perfectly dressed for the ball—in Cinderella costumes and D23 fan gear!

We were even joined by a few special guests, including Olaf, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and these Stormtroopers! You could say they had a blast.

The next day, we headed out to Napa for a very special afternoon at Silverado Vineyards, founded by Diane Disney Miller and her husband, Ron Miller.

We were greeted by two wonderful surprises: a glass of Silverado’s Sangiovese Rosato, and a personal welcome from Silverado co-founder Ron Miller!

One of the highlights of the afternoon was a presentation by Christine Freeman and Juliet Roth from the Pixar Living Archives. They even brought along maquettes of Emile and Remy from Ratatouille to enjoy some fine food and wine with us.

Our East Coast events kicked off with Breakfast on Broadway at Disney Store Times Square early in the morning of Saturday March 14. Before the store opened to guests, members were treated to a special store-opening ceremony, an exclusive shopping discount, a class on how to draw Baymax, and some New York-based trivia for special pins!

The group then walked down Broadway to the New Amsterdam Theatre, where Disney’s Aladdin is currently selling out regularly. Guests enjoyed a continental breakfast in the theater’s New Amsterdam Room where Disney Theatrical dramaturge Ken Cerniglia walked guests through the evolution of Disney on Broadway stage productions, including a look at how the team worked to create The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Before leaving, each guest received a goodie bag with items from The Walt Disney Studios and Disney Theatrical to commemorate the occasion.

The next day, Sunday, March 15, at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey, almost 200 members and their guests attended a special performance of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Along with a discount on tickets and a limited-edition pin, members were treated to a post-show talkback with the musical’s lyricist, Stephen Schwartz, who answered member questions about the development of the show from screen to stage.
