Just in time for back-to-school, D23: The Official Disney Fan Club will celebrate The Disney Afternoon, the beloved TV programming block from 1990–97 that included such animated favorites as DuckTales, Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears, and Chip ’n’ Dale Rescue Rangers. During the afternoon of August 19 on The Walt Disney Studios lot, D23 Gold and Gold Family Members are invited to come in their ’90s best attire and celebrate all things totally rad! We’ll enjoy favorite memories from the shows with engaging presentations inside the historic Main Theatre, with appearances by Disney writers, producers, artists, and voice actors who created these fun-filled afternoons, including:
- Jim Cummings, famed Disney voice actor whose notable Disney Afternoon credits include Darkwing Duck, Pete, Zummi Gummi, Don Karnage, Louie, Monterey Jack, Fat Cat, and Bonkers D. Bobcat
- Bill Farmer, Disney Legend and voice of Goofy (Goof Troop, Bonkers)
- Jymn Magon, who served various roles, from series creator and producer to writer and story editor, for such shows as Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears, DuckTales, Chip ’n’ Dale Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, and Quack Pack
- Mike Peraza, Disney artist and conceptual and layout designer for DuckTales, Chip ’n’ Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin, and Goof Troop
- Tad Stones, writer and producer for Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears, Chip ’n’ Dale Rescue Rangers, and Darkwing Duck (for which he developed the show concept)
In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from the creative team behind the brand-new DuckTales series debuting this summer on Disney XD! Not only will guests hear where Matt Youngberg (executive producer), Francisco Angones (co-producer/story editor) and Sean Jimenez (art director) drew inspiration for the new series, but they’ll also have the chance to see exclusive footage from the exciting new show!
